Atom remote editing workflow

#1

Hi,

I am new to atom and I want to use it to edit files on a remote server. If possible development and production servers.

We don’t currently have git set up and I am used to working on files locally and another developer works on remote files only with no local copies (using brackets).

What I want to be able to do is work on remote files so we are not going to overwrite each others code by the way of opening a remote file, editing it and uploading it.

It must not upload if the file has changed on the server but show differences. Is this remote sync?

Is there a way to keep track of which files were changed so I can then upload them to the production server when happy?

We will be setting up git to help with version control but for the time being this is how I want to work.

What I find hard when not having local files is things like searching, search and replace, code completion, finding certain methods easily etc - any tips on that would be great!

Thanks…
