Atom is opening on a blank Chromium page

#1

Hello, I’ve been using Atom.io for a long time, and a while ago it started doing something weird. It started opening in a Chromium browser with the developer console on. Please help, I’ve been using Atom.io for a long time. I’ve even reinstalled it, to no results. Here’s a screenshot.

Please help, I really want to get back to Atom.io for my programming.

Have you followed the suggestions in the Debugging document? Also, could you give the following information?

  • Which version of Atom are you using?
  • What OS and version are you running?
  • Can you reproduce the issue after completely exiting Atom and restarting using atom --safe?

#4

Thanks for replying. I’m on 1.6.0, I’m on Windows 10, and using atom --safe seems to work, but whenever I use the shortcut, it goes back to the blank Chromium page with the dev tools open.

#5

If atom --safe works, then it sounds like you have a package, theme, or your styles.less that is causing the issue.

#6

Yeah, that’s what I thought too.

Do I wipe out the files in C:\Users\me\AppData\Local\atom\packages?

#7

You could do that … or you could just rename the C:\Users\me\AppData\Local\atom\packages directory to something else so that you can try out the packages one-by-one to see which one is causing the problem.

Alright, thanks for your help! ^.^
