Look at the number in parentheses in the lower right-hand corner. That
Git (68197) is telling you that you have 68,197 files in the git repo that sits above the project folder you have open. Atom pays attention to all of these files, which is why it’s very slow for you when that folder is open (but not if you open a folder on another drive). Most likely, you initialized a git repository by accident on your desktop or user folder; if so, you will have a folder at
C:\Users\Jefri\Desktop\.git\ (if you don’t see it initially, try opening the Explorer options and showing hidden files). If you delete that folder, the problem will be solved.
