What happens if you start Atom from the command line with atom --clear-window-state?

#5

the system cannot find the path specified

#6

Please post a screenshot of your command line window. Then try renaming the .atom/ folder in your user directory, then open Atom and see if it works.

Execute this in the command line or can use the following steps:

  1. Win + r

  2. image

  3. OK

What do you see now?

not working

#11

Hello.

That is an unfortunate result.

My guess is -> Clear up the Atom installation (uninstall) with an application such as CCleaner or Wisecare. Source the official package that suit your system - carefully looking out to use 32-bit or 64-bit version to suit your machine.

Please consider getting an earlier version first. Let us say like V1.26. These you can get from https://github.com/atom/atom/releases/.

Please let the guys know what tasks you decided on and what the results were.
Good luck.

Not working :frowning:

That is unfortunate news; sorry to hear it.

As you have not given details on what you did, it is difficult to a follow-through follow-up.

Possible issues:

  • language support issue

  • security software blocking install

  • security software blocking running

  • user name not handled by install
    (solution: use a portable install)

  • installing 64bit install on 32bit operating system
    (OS variant => Windows 8.1 Update 1 or Windows Server 2012 R2)

I do hope you find a solution - good luck.
