Atom disappeared from Terminal

Just yesterday I tried commiting to a git. Having changed the default commit editor to atom (with no issues), yesterday attempting this greeted me with: “atom --wait: command not found”.

I’ve tried reinstalling (even deleting ~/.atom), and prompting it via terminal in a number of other ways, but with no luck.

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

From the title bar, Atom > Install Shell Commands

…at least this topic might help someone similarly blind in the future. (And in my defense I don’t remember ever doing this, and there was a preexisting apm folder (throwing up an error) which suggests it definitely installed itself somehow previously).
