Unable to launch atom 1.6.0 on Windows 10. atom 1.5.4 was fine.
Atom 1.6.0 crashes on Windows 10
We have someone on the team that uses Windows 10 as their main OS. They haven’t reported this. Have you followed the suggestions in the Debugging document? Have you tried using Safe Mode? To launch Safe Mode:
- Completely exit all instances of Atom
- Launch Atom with the command
atom --safe
Here’s my experience on Windows 10. I woke up this morning and read the instructions for starting atom in development mode. Atom started up and said that some file 95315....tmp
could not be found. I got Atom started and there was no file tree. I restarted the computer, started in normal mode—everything, but no file tree, and Ctrl+\
(or the menu) would not bring it back.
I was going to post a question here, but I saw this post on Atom 1.6.0. So I looked at Help|About and sure enough, I was at version 1.6.0.
And opening the About window made my file tree come up, and it seems to work correctly again.
Very strange this whole deal. I don’t know if it was related to the upgrade, or when the upgrade occurred.
