Upon an error, I’d like to offer a link to the package settings with a suggested fix. This seems like a big UX win… is there a particular reason the target element is not returned with the notification object? Is there a simple way to access it without querying the dom (especially without an id). Thanks
Are you intending to do this for errors thrown from your package? Or from all of Atom?
Both. There are many places where this could be useful, such as stack traces in error notifications can be links to code lines, or even simpler things like formatted prompts to fix a common class of error.
I do not think I am up to a coffeescript patch but I think this is worth discussing
