"Application: Run All Specs" fail to run

#1

When I run “Application: Run All Specs” it opens a new dialog and then fail due to not finding a specific module. You can find a screenshot of the stacktrace here: http://i.imgur.com/xcQBHO1.png.

I’m running rMBP on OS X 10.9.2 with Atom 0.84.0 and Node 0.10.26.

Hi there, I have similar problems
MBP on OS X 10.9.2 with Atom 0.84.0 and Node 0.10.22.

When I do View > Developer > Run atom specs

  • Nothing happens, no window opens, inspector doesn’t open

When I do

apm develop vim-mode
cd ~/github/vim-mode
atom .

View > Developer > Run package specs

  • Nothing happens, no window opens, inspector doesn’t open

I then tried

~/github/vim-mode $ apm test
[764:0409/142738:INFO:renderer_main.cc(227)] Renderer process started

No window opened, however another Atom program launched with a menu containing “Atom > [Reload, Close, Toggle, Quit]”
http://imgur.com/4e0tHDe
(Sorry, discourse didn’t allow me to just paste the image links)

After pressing Quit, the terminal said “Tests passed”. None of the other buttons worked
http://imgur.com/woDd0UQ

~/github/vim-mode $ apm test
[645:0409/141838:INFO:renderer_main.cc(227)] Renderer process started
Tests passed

I don’t think they actually passed, “Tests passed” only showed up after quitting the window

I then tried atom -d

~/github/vim-mode $ atom -t
[833:0409/143232:INFO:renderer_main.cc(227)] Renderer process started

And got the same error as Kevin

I’ll try upgrading node to see if that changes anything…

Upgrading node didn’t change anything for me.

However I forgot to note before that I got another error when using “Run package specs” when not inside a package directory. The inspector opened with the following error:
http://i.imgur.com/nsnf3SW.png

Uncaught TypeError: Arguments to path.join must be strings path.js:378

  // posix version
  exports.join = function() {
    var paths = Array.prototype.slice.call(arguments, 0);
    return exports.normalize(paths.filter(function(p, index) {
      if (!util.isString(p)) {
        throw new TypeError('Arguments to path.join must be strings');
      }
      return p;
    }).join('/'));

This is now also posted at http://stackoverflow.com/questions/22985958/run-package-specs-in-atom-editor-always-causes-error

I submitted a bug report about this: https://github.com/atom/atom/issues/3215
