Apm Publish error

#1

Getting the following error when trying to publish a package.

Creating new version failed: Application error

How can I fix this?

#2

Can you show us the command you entered?

#3

@mark_hahn: apm publish patch

Here is the output:

apm publish patch
Preparing and tagging a new version ✓
Pushing v0.2.3 tag ✓
Publishing texlicious@v0.2.3 ✗
Creating new version failed: Application error

#4

@mark_hahn: I recently forced a push to the master branch, could this have effected it?

#5

According to this output, it succeeded in pushing the v0.2.3 tag … but I don’t see it in your repo. Did you delete it?

Not normally, no … so long as your local repository was in sync with the copy on GitHub, things should work.

#6

@leedohm: I did delete in preparation for publishing again. If i do not then it complains about not being able to create a tag.

#7

Did you delete the local copy of the tag too?

#8

@leedohm: yes I did.

#9

Seems to be an issue on the server side

#11

The following may not have anything to do with your troubles but …

I had a lot of trouble with publishing versions until I followed this strict regimen …

  • Set package.json and CHANGELOG.md to the new version
  • Commit/push to github
  • Add tag with just version number like 1.2.3 to local and github repos.
  • cd to project directory
  • Do apm publish --tag 1.2.3

If I did anything else I’d have problems.

Can't publish package "origin" not git repo?
#12

@mark_hahn: Interesting, how do you set a version for your changelog? I don’t think I know what you mean by the version of CHANGELOG.md.

#13

I just meant to add an entry for the new version. You don’t really have to do this.

#14

I tried your steps unfortunately it didn’t help. Is there any way to contact support?

#15

@thedaniel generally handles requests for support with this.
