Alt-left at beginning of line to move to end of previous line?

When at the beginning of a line of code, almost all editors on the Mac will take you to the end of the previous line on an alt-left keypress. Atom takes you to the start of the last “word” of the previous line in this situation. Is there a way/package to change the behaviour?

I’m not sure what is right… but I think this is the “standard” OS X behavior. At least if I’m understanding you correctly I get the same behavior in TextEdit and Pages.

One keybinding that does seem off to me is that on OS X Alt-Up and Alt-Down are supposed to move to the previous paragraph start and the next paragraph end. But they don’t do anything in Atom.
