I have an alias folder (shortcut) to my htdocs on MAMP, Atom shows this is a file in the sidebar… is there anyway to get it to show as a folder rather than having to go through my finder every time and open the htdocs folder from there or through the terminal?
Which version of Atom are you using? I’m on v0.107.0-fdf8d107 (somewhere in the tree after the current production build but behind
master) and I can’t reproduce your issue:
[~/foo] la total 8 drwxr-xr-x 3 Lee staff 102B Jun 25 18:01 ./ drwxr-xr-x+ 114 Lee staff 3.8K Jun 25 18:02 ../ lrwxr-xr-x 1 Lee staff 29B Jun 25 18:01 test@ -> /Volumes/Data/Users/Lee/.atom
I’m on OS X. What OS and version are you running?
It seems as if Atom only reads symlinks as opposed to aliases.
So for example, if I right click on a folder and select ‘make alias’ - atom will not read this. If however I create a symlink of that folder it will.
In the screenshot the first folder was created in the terminal with 'ln -s’
the second folder was created with ‘make alias’ and clearly atom isn’t reading it properly.
It would be nice if there was a way to fix this.
