A Casual Analysis on Language Popularity

I wrote a short article a while ago about language popularity among Atom users and forgot to share it out; this might be useful for package developers looking for ideas, so enjoy.

Atom: A Casual Analysis on Language Popularity

Interesting, but I think your data may be flawed significantly. Download numbers are affected by how often a package has been updated. It’s a very indirect measure of usage. Also, Atom has great support for the regular web languages out of the box. If you take those default packages out of the equation, JavaScript for instance will be severely hurt in your statistics. And I simply cannot believe that an insignificant language like haml is at the top while JS doesn’t even show up.
